On 7th August 2025, students of Classes VIII to XI attended an inspiring session titled “The Saga of Valour and Fortitude – Operation Sindoor” conducted by the Indian Army at the Saarang Auditorium of Birla High School – Mukundapur. The programme aimed to raise awareness about national security and honour the sacrifices of the Armed Forces. The event was graced by Colonel Tapas Bera, Deputy Secretary General – VMS, while Colonel Prasoon Srinet, Commandant OD, delivered the keynote address highlighting India’s evolving counter-terrorism strategies through major operations. He discussed key incidents such as the Parliament, Akshardham, Mumbai and Pulwama attacks, leading to Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the 2024 Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives. The precision strikes between 7th and 9th May 2025 showcased India’s resolve to combat terrorism. Students gained insights into operational planning, blackout drills and the role of credible intelligence. Colonel Srinet also addressed the roots of unrest in Kashmir and the impact of misinformation, urging students to rely on verified sources like the Eastern Command’s official platforms. The session instilled patriotism, awareness and a sense of civic responsibility, reminding all that informed vigilance is vital in safeguarding the nation’s peace and integrity.
